Arrival, check-in & Welcome Group Dinner

  • Fly in to Santa Fe or Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ)

  • Make personal arrangements for transportation from ABQ to Santa Fe

  • Wellesley Mini Reception and Dinner, 6 PM

Day 2, Saturday, October 6, 2018

Group Half-day Tour with Southwest Adventures

  • New Mexico Sampler (5 hours; $90 per person)- RESERVE DIRECTLY WITH COMPANY 

  • A taste of Spanish and Pueblo cultures, includes stops at the Chimayo Sanctuary and nearby Indian Pueblo

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta  Oct 6-14 

 For details on the balloon fiesta:

From a local's perspective, experiencing the dawn patrol (6 am) and mass ascension (7 am) are two highlights of the festival. I think any alumnae who wish to see the mass ascension should go; of course, it will require a very early departure from Santa Fe (the balloon park is about 50 miles away) -- say, about 4:30 am!  I would aim to get to the park no later than 6 AM. The ascension occurs in stages, but trying to get to the park after 7 am may be a nightmare.
